The main thing to consider with stone floors is whether they are porous or non-porous. For a porous floor, it is best to choose a pore-filling product. This will improve the lifespan of your floor.
Work ergonomically to reduce the strain on your body
- Place the handle to nose height
- Hold the handle by the ball at the top, so your elbow stays in a neutral position
- Walk forward in one straight line, moving as close to the mop as possible
- Return with a zigzag motion, moving close to the mop. That way, there's no need to bend your back as much, and you can work in a nice upright position.
- Do not make angles greater than 45°, and do not mop past your left foot if you are right-handed to spare your back
